1st half

In Egypt, football is more than a game.

It’s the streets, the cafés, the friendships, and the memories.

But as we grow up, organized football often stops. The love for the game doesn’t.

You can still get a game together with friends. But something’s missing.

  • No referee.
  • No league table.
  • No title to chase.

That’s why we started DERBY.

We wanted to bring organized football back to our community in El Gouna. Real competition, weekly matches, and a place for people who still love the game.

Our mission

More than a league. A community built through football.

  • A place to play, compete, meet new people and build friendships.
  • Weekly football that brings players and teams together.
  • More leagues, more levels and more opportunities for everyone as we grow.

Because… everyone deserves their own DERBY.

Half time

Our vision

One day, every city in Egypt will have its own DERBY.

We want to grow from El Gouna into communities across the country, creating leagues for different ages and levels — so wherever you live, there’s a place to play, compete and belong.

Wherever you are… your week needs a DERBY.

2nd half

Teammates at school. Rivals on matchday.

We’re Dani and Hamoudi. We met at El Gouna International School when Dani moved to El Gouna at 14.

At school, we played on the same team. At club level, we were rivals — Dani played for El Gouna FC and Hamoudi for Grand Club. We even faced each other at Khaled Bichara Stadium.

Somewhere along the way, that rivalry turned into a close friendship, with football always being a big part of it.

Hamoudi

I grew up in Hurghada playing academy football and spent four years at Grand Club.

When club football ended, I kept playing small-sided matches with friends. I still loved the game, but I missed the competition, the structure, and having something to play for every week.

I later went into business and even explored the idea of opening a sports hub with my dad. But football was always something I wanted to be involved in, and I knew there was an opportunity to create something that was missing in our area.

Dani

I grew up between Egypt and the Netherlands before moving to El Gouna at 14, where I played for El Gouna FC.

Years later, I returned to the Netherlands to study International Sports Management and Business, and spent several years working in sports and organizing small-sided football leagues.

Seeing how these leagues brought people together showed me that football could be about much more than just the matches.

It made me think about how much potential something like this could have back in Egypt, especially in El Gouna, where football had been such a big part of my own life.

Football brought us together.

Now we want it to bring others together.

Why El Gouna?

Where it all started.

El Gouna has been a big part of both our lives. It’s where our friendship grew, where we spent years playing football, and where we made some of our closest friends.

The community here means a lot to us, and we wanted to create something that brings people together and gives them something to look forward to every week.

Starting DERBY in El Gouna wasn’t just about finding a place to launch a league. It was about building something meaningful in a place that has given us so much.

Full time

This is just the beginning.

We’re starting in El Gouna, but we hope DERBY grows into something much bigger.

More leagues, more communities, and more opportunities for people to enjoy the game we all love.

And we’d love for you to be part of it.

Your week needs a DERBY.
